Welcome! I’m interested in your ideas for Lost Phone Screen for Windows Phone.

Allow Bold or Outlined Text
Neither the default white or black provides a high enough contrast on my wallpaper image. They both look acceptable when viewed in the app, but once saved to the image both are difficult to read.
I'd prefer not to use a louder color, so how about either a bold font or a slight outline?

Vertical text in small font on the right edge
To me, the default text size and location are too intrusive, they ruin my beautiful screensaver. I stole the idea and put the text in a small font (I think 9) vertically on the right edge of the background. It is "out of the way" but vertical orientation still attracts the attention so a person that finds the phone will read it.

Allow scrolling/panning when entering details in "wallpaper text"
When editing data in the "Wallpaper Text" screen, when the keyboard is visible I can't pan scroll the window up and down. This means that when I want to move from Line 2 to Line 3 I can't without clicking a very small box (Can't see line 4 of "extra room" fields) or clicking "back" to dismiss the keyboard. I'm using an HTC Titan.

Save image as the same file
I'm not sure of the feasibility of this...
When I select a different background image in Lost Phone Screen and save it, can it be saved to the same file as the current background so I don't have to go Settings and select the new background?

ICE
I bought this app to add emergency contact info, not because I'm worried about losing my phone.
ICE is well known to first responders. You should use it in examples, explain it in help, and also mention it as another use in whatever marketing you do.

Let users pick from built-in wallpapers
My phone came with some wallpapers (presumably from HTC) but I can't choose these in Lost Phone Screen.

I’ll do this AS SOON as there is a supported SDK way to do it. Currently there isn’t.

Multi-coloured / contrasting text
Having black or white text is fine, but doesn't suit most of the photos I would use as backgrounds.
For example, if I have a white fluffy cloud on the left quickly contrasting to a darker cloud, or a building / person, then the black text would be lost on the right, the white text would be lost on the right.
Having the text XOR (can't think of a better term for it) against the background would be awesome. Especially if there was a user-configurable slider so that the level of contrast could be chosen. That way the contrast would… more

Detect the maximum characters and perform a word wrap
See if you can detect the need to wrap the text. I have a long email address and the M from .com is cut off

Let the user choose text colour
White or black is good but perhaps a choice of text colours?

Provide a meaningful default phone number
If possible, it'd be nice to detect the "home" number of the phone's owner (the "me" contact) and use that as the default phone number.

I can’t find a public API for this. They’d have to pick themselves from a chooser.

prompt user to re-apply the overlay when lock screen is changed
As somebody who frequently changes the lock screen, it would be nice for the app to periodically check & re-apply the overlay (say once a day)

Good idea. Prompt them as they leave? Or as a notification?
